Who's marching to victory?

Who's in Leeds

September sees the launch of the latest three Doctor Who novels from the BBC - two of them written by northern gay men and the third by a Leeds-based straight man (well, there had to be one!).

Acclaimed gay novelist Paul Magrs, based in Manchester, Leeds gay writer Mark Michalowski and Leeds-based straight horror writer, Mark Morris will all be at Borders in Leeds on September 15th for a signing session from midday until 2pm.

Marching to victory

Local writer Char March has beenshortlisted for a major literary fiction prize - the New Writing Partnership fiction aware.

‘The award ceremony is in London on the 12th of Sept,’ says March, ‘and I’ll know then if I’ve won. The story that’s got me there is In Memory of Showers, about a Jewish lesbian who is having an affair with a German businesswoman but keeps having unsettling flashbacks to when she visited the concentration camp where a lot of her family where murdered.’ You can check it out - and get full info on the award itself at www.newwritingpartnership.
