The annual general meeting of the Equity Partnership, Bradford’s lesbian, gay and bi-sexual community organisation, takes place on 31st October, when it will celebrate its successful second year.

The Partnership is making its second AGM into a special event, with an evening of Halloween themed food and entertainment. As well as the social side, the annual report will be launched and there will also be the election of new Trustees who will guide and develop the work of the Equity Partnership over the coming year.

Sarah Cooper, Chair of the Equity Partnership, said: “The past year has been just as action packed as our first. The Equity Centre has become a real focus for lesbian, gay and bisexual activity in the district, and with funding for a full-time community development worker to work alongside our part-time health worker we’ve really been able to expand what we can offer to both local LGB communities and agencies wanting to work more effectively with the District’s LGB residents.

“This event will be a celebration of all we’ve achieved over the last year and an opportunity to help build on these achievements for the future. We wanted to organise the AGM with a Halloween theme to get away from the idea that AGMs have to be boring and dry and so that people could bring along their children too. It is important to us that people from all Bradford’s LGB communities can feeling involved in what we are doing and coming along to a fun evening is more likely to get a good attendance.”

The Equity Partnership’s AGM is open to members and non-members and includes food, AGM and social.

There will also be a drop in for people working for local agencies to find out more about the Equity Partnership and our work, and to discuss how we might help with their work in health, education, employment, social care, housing, crime and community safety and other public services between 5pm and 7.30pm.
