November's a drag
on the scene
from November 2007

November sees not just one but two major drag competitions. The Drag 4 U grand final is on the 27th at the Barnsley Metro Dome, after heats all over our region and beyond. This THT fundraiser looks to be alot of fun, but if that’s a little out of the way for you, have no fear. On November 30th Drag Idol returns. Leeds’ very own drag pageant, now in its third year, sees the cream of amateur drag talent going head to head for the coveted title of Drag Idol 2007! This year the event takes place at Oracle in the Brewery Wharf area of the city. Danny Cher Bailey, Daisy DuPont and Anna Glypta are your fabulous judges and Miss Blanche takes on the job of hostess whilst DJ Degsie makes sure the music is just so.

‘Last year,’ says Steve Westwood from THT, ‘we raised £4000 and this year we are hoping to beat that figure.’ The four Leeds charities that funds are being raised for are Daybreak, Yorkshire MESMAC, THT Leeds and Leeds Skyline Services.

The event will be opened by last year’s winner Miss Karma who will be performing a brand new number especially for the occasion, and there will be a special appearance by the International Miss Sam Buca!

The date for your diary is Tuesday November 27th and tickets are on sale now, but be warned - at only £5 a ticket and with the tickets strictly limited to only 250, you had better get in quick because the event is guaranteed to be a sell out!

Tickets are on sale now at the following venues: The Basement Complex, The Bridge Inn, Blayds Bar, Clonezone, The New Penny, The Viaduct and Xibit.
