Local writer Char March hosts an evening of opera at the Seven Arts centre in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, this month. ‘These evenings are a really good laugh, even for opera-haters like wot I am,’ says March. ‘They comprise: me, a fabulous accompanist (who will hereafter be called The Infamous Colin Sell) and six superb singers from Opera North... and I get to take the pee out of them all. And you get a sort of Desperate Housewives history of opera and to hear some truly fabby numbers. Oh, and there’s free wine.’ It’s on Saturday 3rd Nov 8pm-11pm, £4 in adv, £5 on the door. Ring Seven on 0113 262 6777 for tickets.

A third year undergraduate at the University of York is looking for adult (18+) offspring of lgbt parents to interview for her dissertation. Being the daughter of a lesbian she was shocked to find a lack of sociological reseach on the topic and hopes to fill a bit of the void. Interviews should take no more than an hour and all participants will be anonymised. If you are interested, please e-mail Francesca Archer-Todde on fefat500@york.ac.uk for more information.

The one and only Lonnie Gordon who had smash hits with ‘Happening all over again’, ‘Love eviction’, ‘No Regrets’ and many more, has confirmed that she will be performing live at Candy nightclub in Bradford on Friday 23rd November. It promises to be a night to remember!
