Hollywood comes to Leeds

Victor Victoria have announced the date and theme for their next outing in Leeds Town Hall - it’s back to the golden age of the silver screen for their Hollywood Ball on Friday 9th December.

Once again the team will be staging a night of dancing, going from strict tempo to disco in five fabulous hours, with extra entertainment thrown in for those who can only marvel at the cha-cha-cha.

Victor Victoria afficionados will already be planning their costumes, but if you’re looking for inspiration, the team are not short of ideas: ‘Our guests always do us proud with their outfits,’ said a spokesperson, ‘and this year we imagine there’ll be people dressed up in their glad-rags to collect their Oscars, people coming as their favourite film stars - or maybe even their favourite film. Or perhaps people will come as paparazzi to snap the stars as they arrive. Then we’ll need make-up artists, gaffers, best boys, camerawomen, extras...’

If it seems a long time since their last event, it is. We last saw the dancing queens (and dykes) two years ago when they transformed Leeds Town Hall into a cruise ship.

‘The town hall was closed for refurbishment so we had to miss a year, but we’re back with a bang - and a big band!’

Tickets are already selling fast - see the advert in this month’s issue for details of how to get yours.
