off the scene from May 2007
North Yorkshire must be one of the most varied and beautiful counties in England. Well, that’s what I reckon and I’ve only been here a short time, and only seen a tiny fraction of it. Coastlines, endless hills and dales, historic market towns, innumerable visitor attractions and activities - oh, I’m beginning to sound like a tour guide. Anyway the point is: it’s just what we need for an active and interesting summer - and beyond.
If you’d like to get more out of this beautiful part of the country; if you’d like to meet other gay/bi guys; if you’d like to enjoy new or familiar activities, locally or further a-field, then Yorkshire MESMAC would like to help.
If you know of a great day/evening out somewhere, perhaps you’d like to share it. Maybe you’ve discovered a stunningly beautiful walk, or you know who serves the best pie and pint in the county, or you’ve always wanted to go to Forbidden Garden but think you need to have a gaggle of kids with you. Whatever ideas you have, get in touch. If you’d like to help organise get-togethers, then get in touch. If you’d like to join in with various events around the county, then get in touch.
We can hold onto contact details and help match people with the activities they like to do; and put people in touch to make it happen.
If you let us know where you are, what you enjoy doing/would like to do, what you can do to help things happen (from giving lifts, to making phone calls, to just turning up with a smile to support different events), then we’ll do our best to support it. It’s up to you - so let’s get on and enjoy summer!!
