‘Although we have only within this week earmarked Sunday August 20th as the date for York’s Pride in the Park picnic,’ says Peter Blackburn from event organisers Yorkshire MESMAC, ‘we are certain this event will take place at Rowntree Park in York. We are in the throws of negotiating with York City Council and others about the details; however, we have the backing and the intent to ensure a great afternoon is enjoyed by all. Those interested in attending please bring your own picnic and enjoy a fantastic afternoon of fun and entertainment. The LGBT Forum still have a great deal of work to undertake in organising things so watch this space for further developments.’
