Pride London

in the news
from June 2007

Pride London has announced its key acts for the main stage in Trafalgar Square on June 30th with appearances from Darren Hayes, UnkleJam, Dragonettes and new gay brother duo Nemesis.

The event will follow the Pride London parade and commence with the music from the scene’s hottest DJ at 2pm before the main acts start at 3pm.

Supporting headliner Darren Hayes (pictured), formerly of Savage Garden, will be Pride London patron Mz Fontaine and QBoy who recently trekked America for the Homo Revolution Tour. Nemesis, stars of MTV’s Logo, will also be making an appearance alongside 1980s solo success Jimmy Sommerville.

This year’s presenters Graham Norton, John Barrowman Amy Lamé, Jamie Crick and Lucio of Capital Radio will present guest speakers including the Mayor of London, Lord Smith and Kristine Garina, Chair of Moziaka Riga, Pride London’s twinned event.

‘The main stage is the place where we try to bring together the politics and entertainment that define Pride London,’ said Pete Heyes, Production Director of Pride London. ‘This year we really wanted to showcase acts that the gay community is listening to. All our artists, presenters and programmers give their time to the charity for free, and the high-profile line-up shows their skill and commitment, for which we are very grateful. It was hard work to follow the success of EuroPride, but we feel that this year Pride London has really got to the roots of committed musical and artistic talent.’
