Pride, not prejudice, in Wakefield

Planning is well underway for this year’s Wakefield Pride event which will be taking place on Sunday 13th August.

‘This the second event,’ says Jeff Platts from organisers Yorkshire MESMAC, ‘following on from last year’s hugely successful weekend. Negotiations are in progress for the temporary street closure of the precinct in Upper Kirkgate and Lower Warrengate It promises to be a fun-packed day, with a main stage where entertainment will be running throughout the day. There will be sports activities and talent competitions taking place on the run up to the weekend. The committee are working hard to secure funding to enable the event to take place and are also seeking sponsorship.’

If you would like to support the event in anyway either by sponsorship, providing a stall or entertainment or volunteering your time please contact Jeff Platts (see below)

Phone: Jeff Platts at Yorkshire MESMAC on 01924 211116.
