Services for disabled people in York
off the scene
from June 2006

‘If you are a York citizen and you use support services as a disabled person or as a family member, we would like to hear from you!’

The Centre for Inclusive Living Steering Group is asking disabled people in York and family members about future services.

‘We are asking you what support services you want in the future,’ says a spokesperson. ‘The Centre for Inclusive Living Steering Group is looking at the way services are provided for anyone who is disabled by any impairment. This may include children, young adults, working age adults and older people. Service provision can also affect family members who will also have views about services. We believe that support services should enable disabled people to live the life they choose and be included in their local community.’

The group is holding an informal event to hear about Centres for Independent Living and to tell them your views on July 12th from 1.30-3.30pm at The Friends Meeting House, New Earswick and on Tuesday 11th July, 7-9pm, at Applefields School, Bad Bargain Lane, York.

‘If you need help with transport, personal assistance or anything else to enable you to take part, we will do our best to help. Just let us know (details below).
