Fuel revamp

on the scene
from July 2007

‘After four years of proudly jerking Hull into the 21st century, Fuel is finally about to receive a fantastic new makeover!’ they tell us. ‘Gone are the days of dreary browns and creams.… vibrant new features will be sure to entice the discerning clubbing crowd to Yorkshire’s new Mecca.’

The grand re-opening of Fuel Hull, on Friday 20th July, will be a sensory treat as the main room reveals its true glory. Beautiful architectural Victorian features blend with state of the art décor and a super updated sound and lighting system. ‘We wanted to throw out the traditional views of a nightclub,’ said Chris Dale, General Manager. ‘Customers are not going to pay for nothing. They want something for their money - they want to be entertained!’

The main bar has been re-sited at the other end of the club and the existing kitchen area demolished, bringing an arena-style dance floor area, boasting wicked lighting effects and enough raised areas for the posers in all of you!

The old ‘terrace’ - previously open to the elements - has now been turned into an enclosed room known as The Trash Palace. ‘Kitsch is the name of the game in this large mega-cheesy pop room, which compliments the cool and funky main room. When we gave the designer the brief, they went berserk,’ said Chris. ‘Tack is definitely the name of the game.’

For those wishing to escape the bustling masses, Fuel proudly opens its third room - modest and upmarket. ‘Our chill-out room will be totally red - comfy and quiet, it will provide an escape in which to chat and relax.’

The venue will be open seven nights a week, with a whole host of entertainment. Address: 6 Baker St, Hull, HU2 8HP MAP
