In the run-up to England’s going smoke-free on July 1st, four Yorkshire performers promoted quitting smoking with the help of NHS services in the region.
‘We want to encourage people to take their last drags,’ said Miss Precious.
Miss Precious, Miss Blanche, Portia and Danny Cher from the Birdcage nightclub in Leeds are supporting England going smokefree. Smoking 20 cigarettes a day costs around £1850 a year, which would buy a lot more make up to cover up the wrinkles smoking causes.
Smokers quitting with the help of the NHS are four times more likely to stop for good than those who go it alone. With seven out of ten smokers saying they want to quit the NHS in Yorkshire wants to encourage everyone to stop smoking on the 1st July. On 1st July virtually all enclosed public places and workplaces in England will become smoke-free.
