The launch of the new Calderdale LGBT Network on 26th February is a cause for celebration. Open to organisations, businesses and individuals, an afternoon conference - 12-4.30pm - will be addressed by the National Director of Equality & Human Rights, Dr Surinder Sharma and a speaker from Stonewall. And from 7pm a celebration for the lgbt community starts in earnest. Local comedy artist Addie Orfila - aka Clitty Rubquick - heads an evening of fantastic entertainment with local band Secret's Out and Cameron Walsh, a DJ, free food and a licensed bar. The venue for both events is the completely accessible Square Chapel in Halifax.
