Donny's civil anniversary

in the news
from February 2007

Doncaster's same sex couple who became the first in the borough to have a civil partnership, celebrated their first anniversary in style. Rennie and Catherine Brown were invited to Doncaster's Mansion House to raise the rainbow flag, which flew proudly for the day in recognition of the first anniversary of civil partnerships. The couple were accompany by Cllr Glyn Jones, Cabinet Member for Human Rights & Equalities and support from local organisations and community members.

They raised a glass to toast the happy couple and the 45 same sex couples who'd committed to a civil partnership ceremony in Doncaster and to the 75 couples to have registered their intentions to do so in the future.
