Candy

Bradford’s Candy has been open for a few months now, following the closure of Club Life - and we’ve heard such good things about it that we thought we should go along and see for ourselves.

And we couldn’t have picked a better night than the Friday night in November that the wonderful Lonnie Gordon made an appearance. Her amazing voice - not to mention her great personality - went down a storm, as she performed older numbers such as Love Eviction and Happening All Over Again as well as the track that’s planned as her new single, a cover of Prince’s Purple Rain.

(And, needless to say, the inimitable Marigold Addams was on DJ duty - the woman should be declared a national treasure!).

The club, with its two levels and two dancefloors, is a great venue - plenty of space to move around, dance and cruise - and the crowd that were in had a brilliant night. Mark and Nick have done a great job in bringing Bradford’s its newest gay club, and long may it continue!
