‘The project to create a digital archive documenting the history of lgbt people in West Yorkshire has progressed fantastically well since October last year,’ says Fiona Cosson, ‘and I’d like to thank everyone for their help. Now that the finish line is in sight, the last interviews are being recorded and the website is being built, I would like to appeal for your help once more... To compliment the sad, funny, weird and comfortingly-ordinary stories you have contributed to the project over the past ten months, I would like to appeal for pictures for the archive. I’m looking for all-sorts of images that reflect lgbt community/life, whether they are of you and your friends, of parties and social gatherings, marches and protests, Pride, pubs and clubs, streets and buildings- anything goes (but they are for public viewing I might add! No rudies please!).
‘Please feel free to send pictures even if you have not been involved with the project previously: you can send them by email in electronic format (jpeg, gif etc), or if you’re able to post them to me, at the address below, I can scan them and return them to you.
‘Thanks to everyone for your help with this project - your support and contributions have made this project something really special! We’ll be celebrating the end of the project in early autumn and I’ll let you know details of this in the near future.’
Pics can be sent to Fiona Cosson at the addresses below.
