The Pink Picnic

Despite the forecast of heavy showers, Huddersfield’s annual Pink Picnic celebrations enjoyed hot sunshine and record crowds to celebrate real Yorkshire diversity.

Mr Gay UK 2008, Daniel Broughton, opened the event whilst DJ Marky Mark hosted stage stars such as the Pride Sisters and international recording star Hazell Dean. And Shout!’s very own Anaglypta and the boys from The Viaduct provided a superb musical rendition of some of the best camp tunes.

The usual stalls and side entertainment were in abundance and one of the highlights of the day was the arrival of Mark Carter, ex Mr Gay UK, who completed a seventeen mile charity run from Bradford to the Pink Picnic itself.
