Gay Abandon have been into the recording studio to record tracks for their forthcoming Best of Gay Abandon CD. West Yorkshire’s premier lgb choir are ten years old this year and are recording the CD to celebrate this special birthday.
After the recording session Musical Director Jane Edwardson said: ‘The choir is sounding fantastic and it’s great to be working on some of our favourite old songs.’ There’ll be something for everyone on the CD, from camp classics like Dancing Queen to contemporary pieces like Different Drummer. Edwardson says ‘We’re celebrating all the fun we’ve had over the past ten years.’
The CD will be launched at the I Love Gay Abandon - 10 Years Younger celebration concert on Saturday 19th July 7.30pm at The Venue (Leeds College of Music). Tickets are £10/£8 and are already selling fast from the box office (tel 0113 222 3434).
Gay Abandon are also holding a Bingo and Bubbles social night hosted by the indomitable Ms Clitty Rubquick! Tickets cost just £3 including free bingo card - Saturday 19th April at Stainbeck Hall, Chapel Allerton Leeds.
